Trainee qualification and skills
Trainees should
- be graduate students or preferably at postgraduate level
- be plurilingual (our working languages are English and French)
- be accurate and flexible
- be able to work autonomously on a specific project
- have good organisation and communication skills
- have adequate drafting and advanced computer skills
- be motivated and capable of working efficiently in a team and within the overall framework of the European Centre for Modern Languages.
General tasks
The trainee will assist the webmaster in his daily work and will participate in the development of the web site of the ECML being responsible for the follow-up of tasks and for checking on the accuracy and on the updating of information. This area of work will allow the trainee to participate in the continuous development of the various sites.

· project sites
- regular updating and maintenance of the online databases
· European Day of Languages
· experts database
· intercultural incidents
· proverbs database
- assisting users in accessing relevant information / documents on the websites
- answering postal, e-mail or telephone requests
- preparing mailing lists
- offering support to ECML project activities
Specific tasks
Each trainee is responsible for a specific project, which will be discussed on your arrival, taking into consideration your special interests and skills. Several trainees chose to set up of a collection of websites for the teaching and learning of their mother tongue. Oh yes - and the site you are consulting at the very moment is also the result of such a specific project!
European Day of Languages (EDL)
Trainees working in this area will also be involved in the organisation of the European Day of Languages. Throughout Europe, hundreds of activities celebrating language diversity and promoting language learning are held on 26 September each year.

By the end of their stay, trainees will have gained
